"It was wonderful and unique," said head nurse gabriela kalouskova to the news agency dpa. "We have never had any funflings here!"According to media reports, this is the first birth of babies in the czech republic that was not conceived by artificial insemination. The probability of a natural pregnancy is estimated at 1 in 50 million, similar to winning the lottery. Newspapers and television celebrated the mother, alexandra kinova from milovice near prague, as a "super mom" for this reason.
According to the wishes of the parents, terezka, michael, daniel, martin and alex heiben, the children are to be born. At home, the four-year-old brother waits for the brothers and sisters. A team of doctors and nurses assisted kinova during the birth. The little ones came in the 31. Week of pregnancy to the world. That’s about seven weeks before a normal birth.
Specialists in operating rooms were prepared for possible complications. The prague institute for mother and child care is considered one of the best institutions of its kind in the czech republic. The hospital is idyllically located on the banks of the moldau river.
Two and a half months ago, kinova was surprised to learn that she was expecting not quadruplets, but twins. The woman then cried, she told local media. "We can do it," she added. During the pregnancy she had to vomit for four months, but still gained 30 kilograms.
Now the doctors proudly reported that the cesarean section not only went off without a hitch, but also much faster than expected. "The babies were born within five minutes, but we had expected a quarter of an hour," explained chief physician zbyenk stranak. The prague tabloid "blesk" came up with the formula "five children in five minutes".
The father of the little ones almost missed the birth of his charges. His train to prague was delayed by continuous rain. The 26-year-old arrived on time and was "immensely happy". The financial situation of the family, with a monthly income of around 400 euros, is described as precarious.
Their hometown of milovice wants to provide the family with a coarser three-room apartment and two helpers for the time being. Newspaper readers and television viewers reportedly spontaneously donated baby carriages and baby equipment. A special buggy model with three seats was not to be missed.
